{SQT} NYC Takes

Coming to you from the NJ Transit waiting area at Penn Station in New York City, it’s Quick Takes!

I just attended Jennifer Fulwiler’s comedy show (part of her Naughty Corner Tour) at an intimate venue downtown (or was it uptown? or on the West Side? I have no idea.) I wasn’t sure it would work for me to attend until the last minute but I’m glad the stars aligned because it was a great show. If you enjoy Jen’s brand of humor you will throughly enjoy her set, as well as those of her opening acts. Check my Instagram Stories for a few pictures if you’re so inclined.

In other news, my book edits are due, like, now, and Addie and I leave at 12:30 Friday (today!) for a college visit in Detroit. So, please don’t try to contact me in the next 24 hours with any requests. I’ve been wearing the same pair of dirty socks for the last three days so, I cannot. even. with anything else right now.

But I will say, even though writing and editing this book has totally sucked, it really is so much better the more time I put into it. I can’t wait for it to be done so I can share it with you.

Next week my new workbook, ‘Self Care for Special Needs Moms’ drops in conjunction with Ultimate Bundles ‘Ultimate Women’s Wellness Bundle 2020’. I’ve promoted bundles in the past, but this is the first time I’ve been a contributor. More than anything, I’m hoping this sale will put the work of acceptingthegift.org in front of a larger audience, but I also hope that the workbook is a useful resource for exhausted special needs moms everywhere. Purchasing it with my affiliate code during the bundle sale will get you access to all the talks from last spring’s conference. After the bundle sale, the workbook will be still be available, but only with access to my talk on self-care included.

In the drafts folder is a mid-year homeschooling review I haven’t been able to finish because BOOK EDITS! But in a nutshell, we’ve had a good year so far and I’m definitely a fan of community college classes for duel credit. Any other homeschooling questions, drop them in the comments and I’ll be sure to answer them in the ensuing post.

I suppose that’s all for now. Hopefully my train boards soon- I still need to wake up at the crack of dawn for school prep! This glamorous blogging/ writer life is exhausting!

Link up is now live! Join in below with your own takes. I look forward to reading your posts!

  1. Yeah, posting my Quick Takes is going to wait until I have a functional computer in front of me (my laptop is visiting the Geek Squad service center in Kentucky) and I’m not up at 4 a.m. overthinking everything.
