Coming to you live from the sixth day of mirth and merriment inside the twelve days of Christmas! Last year, Dwija hosted a ’12 in 12′ photo link-up. Over a few glasses of spiked something recently, I was thinking of it, got nostalgic and immediately ran to my computer and started scrolling through old posts…
I don’t know what it was about yesterday; maybe the fact that I had to drag everyone out to the dentist and music lesson. Maybe it was all the snow and mud Fulton’s wheelchair kept bringing into the house. Maybe it was just lack of sleep or hunger. But whatever the reason, as we drove…
*MWAH!* That’s the sound of me giving each of my wonderful friends a huge smooch on the cheek. That includes you bloggy readers! In anticipate of Saturday’s Ugly Sweater Run, I spent a chunk of time last week spreading the word about 35K For SMA over as much of social media land as I could,…
Having just completed all the laundry from our trip out of town over Thanksgiving, I can finally sit down and blog without getting dagger eyes from the mountain of clothes in my living room. However, I’m considering instituting a few days of nudity next week so we can all stop producing so much dirty laundry….
In honor of NaNoWriMo I present ‘Third Person Thursday’. Just something different to help me in my fiction writing journey. If you’re so inclined, join me. I’d love to read about your morning/afternoon/ trip to Target in the third person. Leave a link in the comments. Kelly stared into her coffee. For a moment, she…
I have a new-found respect for authors. Certainly I knew penning my first novel wouldn’t be easy, but, as evidenced by the embarrassingly low word count you can view on my sidebar, I’m finding it almost impossible to find time to write. Certainly, my new schedule of waking up at 5 a.m. helps, but only…
So Kelly, what have you been up to during the last month? Oh you know, just saving every box that came into our house so I could make a cardboard AT-ST Walker costume for Halloween. “Does the UPS man have a package for us today??? Kids, chase his truck and see if he’ll throw us…
I’ve run covered in dye, mud and lured by alcohol, but now, I face the greatest 5K of all; 1. The Ugly Sweater Run! Within five minutes of me spotting a half off coupon for the upcoming run in Philly, I was registered. So many of my favorite things rolled into one run; I might…
I’ve mentioned a couple of times to visiting friends that I decorate with books. We have many shelves placed wherever there’s wall space and they’re just bursting with titles. I can’t think of any shelves we have that aren’t spilling over with books as opposed to say, dusty trinkets and collectables. Maybe just the dining…
After another exciting week full of missed trips to the potty, I present my seven quick takes. 1. Thanks to everyone reading and sharing my handicap parking post. It’s been getting some really kind and thoughtful comments as well. I could probably do a whole series of angry handicap posts like, “Dear healthy people filling…
Coming back to Quick Takes after a few weeks off, with all the fanfare befitting a deity, because; 1. The older kids were way too quick in correcting him. I should’ve been allowed to enjoy my immortal status a bit longer. Oh wait I can because, BOOM, nectar of the gods! 2. Okay, now before…
Sorry kids, only Teddy gets the dedicated photo collage birthday post. Maybe for Halloween I’ll share his horrendous birth story. Until then, enjoy these photos of our baby who arrived six weeks early and continues to amaze us everyday. And do I intend to be snapping pictures of my 18 year old holding a baby…
I always get a chuckle when other friends share the crazy stuff their kids say. In hindsight, I have not recorded enough of my own children’s gems, though I’ve taken to sharing quite a bit of their drawings on Instagram (for posterity of course.) When I saw this pin on Pinterest, I knew I had…
