After throwing myself into a couple What I Wore Sunday posts early in the fall, temperatures dipped below fifty, meaning I couldn’t go outside and take nice pictures without being too dang cold or bundled up. And since the interior of my house might be, too, um “keeping it real”, I ditched the fashion shots…
Reunited and it feel so good! Oh, I’ve missed you all; my readers, my Facebook friends, my followers on Instagram and Twitter. It is like coming out of the desert to face a table laid with a bounty of gossip, current affairs, friendly banter, perfectly filtered pictures and spam. For almost two weeks I was…
It’s baaaaaack! And the novelty has not worn off! Middle aged mom working it for the camera and linking up with the FLAPers on week one oh five! I’d like to blame my trashed house on poltergeist but, I’ll just have to ‘fess up to spending all my time on Halloween costumes last week. So…
It’s time for takes of the quickest variety. Low-fat, gluten-free and with only a slight aftertaste. 1. We carved pumpkins…last week. I’m telling you know because I feel obligated to give a follow-up after my pumpkin carving post from earlier this month . We had fun decorating and carving while Tony’s aunt from the midwest…
Today, my husband and I celebrated thirteen years of marriage. Clearly, we’ve left the honeymoon years and thankfully, survived the seven-year itch. Since we’re entering what can only be called the teenage years of our marriage, it seemed only fitting that we mark the day as adolescents and act out in wild and rebellious ways. Tony had Columbus…
People, the book, The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg has ruined my life. I read several good reviews and was totally stoked when I picked it up in Barnes and Noble on a date with the hubs. I needed it so bad I spent full price on it. I cannot even tell you the last time…
On Saturday, we brought a little bit of Middle-Earth to South Jersey for my oldest’s birthday party. Ever since reading about this Hobbit party my kids have wanted to host an all day feast. While I couldn’t agree to that, we did invite people over for five hours, three courses, games and general merriment. Addie…
A week or so back, Tony went on retreat for a long weekend. …with my blessing of course. I wasn’t at all concerned about holding down the fort for four days and three nights. Granted, I did mentally prepare of list of people to call in the event a bat entered my home while he…
It’s Monday! How about I type up all the random stuff I was going to write about on Friday but didn’t? Thank you for your understanding. 1. We finished our first week of school without much more drama. The early morning wake ups weren’t that big a deal after Tuesday. Although, as early mornings used…
Did you survive your first day back to school? To my public/ private school friends, did you weep tears of joy or relief at sending your growing babies away on the bus? To my homeschooling sisters, did everyone make it through the day without tears??? I only had four of my five cry, so I…
Who else didn’t write much this week because they knew it would all be a bunch of senseless, angry babble and they just needed to simmer down and not add to the glut of unhelpful and emotionally charged things filling up Facebook? Just me? It was a major case of “if you can’t say anything nice,…
What a week! All good of course, but between all the summer activities, eating and lack of sleeping, it’s no wonder I’m trying to squeeze in a Quick Takes on Friday while sitting with my boys at physical therapy. 1. We had family visiting from Wisconsin for a week and in that time we attempted…
Time to retell all the things from the week of confusion because, Memorial Day. That Monday off throws me every time. 1. Depending on where you live, yesterday was the Feast of the Ascension. (Many dioceses move it to the nearest Sunday, even though Jesus was pretty clear about only spending 40 days on earth,…
