Finally got all the details typed up! End of Advent I felt like Advent was super short this year, and so I never got around to hanging our pink and purple Advent lights. With Byron’s graduation falling the Saturday before Gaudete Sunday (the day we normally get our tree) I convinced Tony to snag a…
Taking some time this Christmas break to write up a year in review post. If you want a brief recap of all the things, keep reading! January It was a quiet month. I didn’t blog any updates. We had fun during the 12 days of Christmas as usual, and we got snow (and snow days)…
It’s the last month of the year, and the last post in my family traditions series! This one is probably going to be the longest, but with less family updates.( I’ll save those for a future post.) December is busy! Not only are we trying to get ready for Christmas, but we’re doing Advent things,…
Another month has wrapped up so it’s time to sit back, reflect, and record all the things our family tends to do during the month of November. (Since Advent starts in December this year, I’m going to share all our Advent traditions in my December Family Traditions post.) Month of the Holy Souls For many…
Remember how I mentioned I was feeling much better and thanked everyone for their prayers? Well that all changed early in October. Unfortunately, I started experiencing new complications from the procedure I had back in July and felt like garbage for most of the month. I had another procedure done last week and I’ve been…
Homeschooling is going well so far, but that means everything else has fallen off my radar. When I do have free time, I’m still struggling to figure out what to do with myself. But, I’ve been down this road before. Right now, I’ve been busy with “special projects” and I’m hopeful that once I cross…
While I’ve kept up with posting, I haven’t really shared a family update. Besides starting the new school year, what else have we been up to? Camp Photos It took me a little while to sort through the camp’s shared album, but I finally selected the best of the best (which is relative when you’re…
August was so busy this year, I couldn’t even get my family traditions post up in time! But, now that we’ve wrapped up our final summer trip (a Labor Day excursion to Cleveland), I’m hoping to settle into a fall routine and catch up on some writing. So how do we usually spend August? Spinal…
It’s been a minute so how about a family update? When last I blogged, I shared about our amazing festival week and eluded to much more fun to come! And we did enjoy time in Ocean City with my mom. Although we couldn’t make it on to the beach (rainy weather), we enjoyed our favorite…
It’s been a busy couple of weeks, which means summer is flying by way too fast. We enjoyed the oldest Italian Festival in the country. Our town just wrapped up it’s 149th annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel festival on Saturday. I think we’ve all had enough fried food to last us for the rest…
Welcome to July! I hope everyone is enjoying a few extra days off. We’ve had a good couple of weeks celebrating with family and friends. Fulton turned 16 on the 28th. Tony’s parents were in town to celebrate. We had ravioli and ice cream cake and he got more Legos, War Hammer kits, and books….
Summer time! It’s unbearably hot and I love it! Give me June heat waves over January snow ANY TIME. This month usually goes by way too fast. Time for a run down of our family’s June traditions. At least one affiliate link below. Month of the Sacred Heart Again, like many feasts/ months I mention,…
St. Bruno the Great Homeschool has another graduate! Edie finished up on the 14th. It was sort of anti-climactic. I believe we’re doing a baccalaureate service honoring graduates at our parish, but not until July. And she didn’t want to walk in a homeschool ceremony where she didn’t know anyone. But I did send out…
