It’s not yet Candlemas, so I still have time to write up my usual Christmas summary post! We’ll take it back to the last week before Christmas and go up to Epiphany. Don’t worry; nothing exciting has happened in the last week+, so this post should suffice for awhile. End of Advent We finished our…
Catching up on all the things! If you just want the details since my last post, feel free to skip to the bottom. I figured I should use our Christmas break to update the blog before my usual holiday wrap up post. I’m saving money and not sending Christmas cards this year (again), so this…
I’ve been busy. But, as I sit at CHOP while Fulton and Teddy get their second drug infusion (no problems since the first, but no real gains either), I thought I would write an update; one hopefully a bit more cheery. Thank you to everyone who commented and offered prayers after my last post. I…
It’s been quite the start to the homeschool year. As I briefly mentioned at the end of my last post, we lost nursing care on the first day of school . I thought perhaps it was time to provide some details on all the changes that have happened since we got word that Fulton and…
It’s been a jam packed summer. I almost don’t know where to start. I have no regrets or apologies for the break in posting, but now that we’re approaching Labor Day, the itch to resume some sort of normal schedule is setting back in. I always regret when I don’t detail life’s happenings around here,…
Time to wrap up June! Half the year is already gone. Even with a sprinkling of easy days between the full ones, life is flying by and I can’t keep up on the blog or in my journal. Let’s hit the highlights! End of the School Year We reached the end of the school year…
We’ve reached the end of another school year, and already logged a family road trip. How about a vacation recap? Don’t mind if I do. This was our first trip to Milwaukee since July 2019, the first with only Tony and I and Fulton and Teddy, and the first in our new van. We left…
Besides the excitement of Addie’s engagement, what else has been happening around here? It’s been awhile so I’ve got at least enough events for an old fashioned Seven Quick Takes! 1.Tony and I went away overnight to a hotel, and it wasn’t MDA camp week!! Our Christmas present to each other was a night away….
Tony and I are happy to announce the engagement of our daughter Addie to her boyfriend of three years Adam. They met at Cleveland State University through Adam’s roommate who was on the fencing team with Addie. Adam is from Cleveland and Addie has spent most of her holidays with his family who live only…
Happy Easter season to all my readers! I had a busier than usual Holy Week and Easter, but now I’ve got a minute to record a few details before our Easter break is over. Affiliate links below. My parent’s 50th wedding anniversary fell on Holy Saturday this year, and my mom really wanted us all…
Thank you for your prayers for my grandmother and my family. Her funeral was packed and because she played the organ for so many years, my family used recordings of her playing her favorite hymns for the service. Not many people can perform at their own funeral! I got to catch up with friends and…
March has come in like a lion but thankfully, some warmer temperatures have blown in with all the storms. Things remain low key around here, but I’m not complaining. Tony’s parents visited for bit just before Ash Wednesday. I always appreciate the help in the kitchen and the kids appreciate the influx of snacks. My…
February has remained a pretty quiet month around here, which is why it’s taken me so long to get another update post published. I’ve even been journaling less because the days are passing without much excitement, which is fine. Consequently, homeschooling is going well, though we’re due for some field trips. The bitter cold weather…
